The Vision of CROSSWINDS IS ABOUT…
Having a Missional Mindset – We will not set ourselves apart from our community but be an incarnational church that adds value to the community. We will be about engaging the community with the message of Christ through relationships.
We do this by…
1. Providing events and opportunities on a monthly basis that reach
into our community.
2. Doing stuff because we love people not just to get them to come to
our church.
3. Be intentional with understanding the needs of our community and
providing opportunities to meet those needs.
Spiritual Development – Teaching people what it means to grow in their personal relationship with Christ. It’s our desire to challenge people to take personal responsibility for spiritual growth.
We do this by…
1. Teaching from the word
2. Small Group Environments
3. Mentoring Relationships
Missions – Genuinely Loving People – the unloved, unaccepted by serving and resourcing those who are ministering to widows, orphans and the homeless. Our Goal is to serve others locally and around the world by giving and going to help spread the message of Christ.
We do this by…
1. Providing opportunities locally and globally for people to go and
serve.
2. Challenge people to give sacrificially to local and global missions.
3. Create a culture within Crosswinds of love for people locally and
globally.
Small Group Environments – We believe that relationships and effective spiritual growth can happen best in the context of small group environments.
We do this by…
1. Challenging our small groups to multiply in 18 – 24 months.
2. Providing an environment to connect new people into small
groups.
3. Training new and existing small group leaders.
Reaching the Family – We believe that investing in the family is part of our calling and responsibility. Our role is to help them grow as Christ followers.
We do this by…
1. Helping marriages to thrive.
2. Providing parents with successful parenting skills.
3. Create environments that are relevant to Children and students.
Multiplication – We will work toward being Multi-site and plant other churches in surrounding communities and maybe even overseas to help spread the message of Christ. We will also strive to train other Christ followers to influence and lead others to Christ.
We do this by…
1. Setting aside 10% of our budget each year to plant future sites.
2. Keep the Vision of planting in front of the people.
3. Train people in servant evangelism.
